Benefits of My Web Design & Consulting Services for Therapists and Healers
Linda Chapman - 405-495-4332

I've been designing websites since 1995. Recently I've noted an interesting shift in the thinking of therapists who contact me for a website. No longer do they require convincing about the essential role a website can play in making a therapy or healing practice accessible to current and potential clients. Instead, even some self-admitted technophobes are simply taking the plunge and getting in the swim of things.

Why? The competitive marketplace has already convinced them. Their clients have convinced them.

But if you still need a nudge about the value a professionally-designed website can bring to your practice here is a list (by no means exhaustive) of some of the benefits you may experience by taking that next step:

First of all, your website will attract not only those surfing the internet at random, it will serve as a 24-hours-a-day, 365-day per year public relations tool where the OPEN sign is always on:
  • Existing and former clients will send your web address to friends and acquaintances who need help. Sometimes a man or woman will locate my site and readily share it with their mate so that they can come to an agreement on making an appointment for couples counseling, for example.

  • Referral sources will be able to readily locate you when they've lost track of your phone number or new address.

  • Save time: People will turn to your website for answers to repetitive questions like directions, services, hours, fees, and qualifications.

  • And if you're really brave, you can even put your appointment book online. (I've done it -- ask me about my experience.)
I have sometimes had therapy clients tell me that they visited my site for several months before deciding to call me. I have the ability to help you create an equally dynamic site which projects a sense of accessibility and communicates your warmth and openness to the needs of potential clients. This, in turn, translates into satisfied clients who communicate your worth to their families and friends. It's synergistic.

Is it effective?
More and more often people are turning to the net to seek referrals. After all, clicking over to Google (or to WWMHW.COM) is a lot less cumbersome than hoisting a five-pound copy of the Yellow Pages. And you can change your website to reflect changes in your practice. Print media is static.

Since June, 2002 (when I started counting) I personally have had well over 450 self-referrals through the search-engine optimized pages of my own website. (And by the way, I accept zero insurance or third-party payments and do not rely on an extensive referral network.) Put your web address on your business cards and stationery, include it in your Yellow Pages ad or phone listing. Let the synergy of the web work for you.

Even if your website generates only one client who sees you for three months your cost would likely be more than justified.

Think about it this way: Can you afford not to have a website? Inaction may be far more costly to your practice than my (very reasonable) fees. While you are procrastinating, is your competition putting their message online? Contact me today to get started.
